Serie Normal people

I’m interested in the overlay of surfaces, colors, and forms. The Serie Normal People begins with an abstract color composition. Simultaneously, details of figures are digitally extracted from photographs, usually based on older photographs. The figures are then transferred onto the abstract composition as forms that overlay the color composition. The visual language recalls elements of comic and street art. The figures remain anonymous, yet together with the abstract colors they reflect the mood of a transient moment.

This painting is based on a photograph taken at lunch time in Manhattan.

Mich interessieren Überlagerungen von Flächen, Farben und Formen. Die Serie Normal People beginnt mit einer abstrakten Farbkomposition. Parallel entwickele ich digital die Figur auf Basis meist älterer Fotos. Die Figuren werden auf die abstrakte Komposition übertragen; als Formen, die die Farbkomposition überlagern. Die Figuren rücken in den Vordergrund, erinnern in ihrer Bildsprache an Comic bis Street Art Elemente, bleiben anonym, aber spiegeln mit der abstrakten Farbkomposition die Stimmung des flüchtigen Moments.
